March 9th 2023 v0.8.5b

  • Fixed huge bug that stopped the fire button from working after using the internet with a gamepad controller. 
  • Added new sounds effects to replace placeholders
  • Added new muzzle flash, recoil, and sound effects for each of the different shotgun shell shots. 

March 4th, 2023 v0.8.3b

  • When bee box is out of bees, it is no longer highlighted. 
  • Updates to character controller to help stop getting stuck in greenhouse.

March 1st, 2023 v0.8.1b

  • Added bee boxes and bees. Bee Boxes can be moved around, they spawn up to 3 bees at a time that attack your enemies. 
  • Most items that can be picked up have a highlight effect. 

February 26, 2023 v0.7.4b

  • Added a system to the scorecard to grow 1 row of cannabis in the background for every 1000 points on the total score. 
  • Added MyGrabber/NeoFPS integration. Now barrels and other objects can be picked up and carried around. 

February 24, 2023 v0.7.3b-

  • Stopped enemies in Intro Scene from spawning objects, should increase performance.

February 22, 2023 v0.7.2- 

  • Added new enemy- Spray Man, worked out how his spray attack kills hemp plants in greenhouse.

February 17, 2023 -v0.7.1-

  • Reworked UI elements with new look. Reworked “internet” system to improve button performance issues and give a better overall feel.
  • New Title screen Art. 
  • Tried to make cursor script work on pause scene, but causing too many problems so removed it. Options can still be accessed using a mouse. 

February 3, 2023 -v0.6-

  • Used NeoFPS pooling system to include pickups and ammo. 
  • Cleaned out more unused assets, trying to get the build size down. 
  • Windows Demo Build created.
  • Reworked and updated to new Unity Input System. Created script to control cursor with gamepad on “internet” system. Thanks samyam!
  • Occlusion Culling added to intro demo scene to increase performance. Added more trees and improved the background. 

January 15, 2023 -v0.5-

  • First Demo Build for MacOS, released to friends for testing. 
  • Improvements to UI, “Internet” system and HUD. Scalability on different screen sizes optimized. 
  • Cleaned unused assets using “Asset Cleaner”
  • Optimized screen resolution, lighting and shadows to increase performance. 

December 12, 2022- v0.4-

  • Created more enemies - Wooks, Tax Collector, State Inspector, Bud Rot, Powdery Mildew and Mini Mildews, Esmeralda the Astral-wook Princess, State Cop, Federal Cop, Tad (Chad’s older brother), female Homie.
  • Hooked up a leaderboard on the scorecard screen thanks to GameDevDan 
  • Post Processing work.
  • Made random mushroom growing system, when mushrooms are consumed a post processing effect fires off for 20 seconds.
  • Made “stoned” post-processing effect that fires off when you collect a health pickup. 
  • Create a random material picker and attached to each AI to give more variation in characters. 

December 6, 2022- v0.3-

  • Title Screen scene created. Made a never ending AI vs AI demo scene that starts playing if no buttons are pressed on the title screen. 
  • Refinements to Emerald AI characters.
  • Improvements to playability. Smoothed out character controller. Added Xbox controller compatiblilty. 
  • Added Rayfire for demolitions and fragmentation, made a tractor in the scene fragment-able. 
  • First take vocal samples made for Chad, Biker, Lawyers, and male Homie. 

November 22, 2022- v0.2- 

  • Playable game loop made, seed planting and plant harvesting mechanics work fine.  5 minute timer used.
  • HUD components created to show seeds, cash, current harvest plants and countdown timer. 
  • Score Card scene created to tally up score and start game over. 
  • Created “internet” system to sell harvest, buy ammo and guns, buy more seeds and time. 

November 10, 2022- v0.1- 

  • After a hiatus to work on other projects, picked up this project again and decided to go full steam ahead with it. I felt my skills had increased to the point I could get my desired mechanics working. 
  • Used Playmaker to come up with Plant Growing mechanics for the hemp plants. Tween action used to slowly scale plant size.  
  • Used Playmaker for timer countdown mechanics. 
  • Created necessary global variables (seeds, current harvested plants, total harvested plants, cashMoney, kills, time) 

March 4, 2022- v0.01 - 

  • Quick prototype built using NeoFPS for the character controller and firearm mechanics and Emerald AI for enemies.
  • Decided the game should be as light weight as possible. Looked into low poly assets for performance and comedic look. Fast game play, no more than a 5 - 10 minute game.
  • Decided on Synty Studios for models, as they had enough characters to suit my needs and for the low poly style. Created the first Chads, Bikers, Hipster Lawyer and Cop enemies. Basic Idea for the game starting to come together, but I’m not skilled enough to implement (code) some of the required mechanics. 
  • First level created, simple small farm house and greenhouse. Ona small 300m x 300m terrain. Borders set to keep player centered in a “Play Area”
